The definition of Naad is the 'essence of all sounds'. Naad are vibrations which are in perfect balance with the 5 elements of the universe: earth, fire, air, water & ether. In order to merge our individual consciousness with universal consciousness, we must speak to the universe using sounds which speak to the universe. Naad is the language of the universe. The Sikh holy scripture, the Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji is written in resonance with Naad, which is only one facet of its many perfections.

The Word of the Guru (Gurbani) tunes our mind and opens our hearts to the infinity of our soul. Then nothing is impossible because infinity has no limits, and our hearts begin to shine with unconditional love. This love fulfills every aspect of our being and serves everyone unconditionally. By serving others, God serves you. This is the teaching at the heart of Sikh Dharma. Just as Naad is the essence of all sounds, Sikh Dharma is the essence of all religions, because unconditional love is the essence of everything.
